C hooks are a kind of spreader specially used for loading steel coils. They are usually made of high-strength alloy steel and have excellent properties such as wear resistance and corrosion resistance, which can ensure safe, convenient and efficient lifting.

C hooks are widely used in the production and manufacturing of steel coils, rolled plate, color plate and other industries, which greatly improves the efficiency of logistics and transportation, shortens the production cycle, and reduces production costs. It’s also often used with steel coil wrapping machine and steel coil upender machine for loading steel coils to the machine or discharing from the machine. The use of C hooks is a very important means of safety assurance and production improvement.

The C hook has a very simple structure, flexible to move, convenient to use for safe lifting. The main part is welded by steel plates and steel pipes. The cross-section is a box-shaped structure, which has good bending and torsion resistance. The C hook is light in weight and has a long service life. Counterweight iron plays the role of adjusting the balance of the C hook, so that the center of gravity of the C hook as well as the object to be lifted are within a line.

Precautions For C Hook Using

  1. The instructor instructs the hoist operator to drive the hoist with the hanging beam directly above the steel coil.
  2. The instructor instructs the hoist operator to drop the hook and stop under the hanging beam and at a distance of 1.8 meters to 2 meters from the working plane.
  3. Two riggers grab the C hooks under the hanging beam respectively. After confirming safety, pull to both sides of the steel coil and hang the steel coil with the hooks. If the steel coil is relatively wide, the instructor should instruct the hoist operator to drop the hook while the rigger is hooking it. When the hook is dropped, the rigger should be in a safe position on both sides of the steel coil.
  4. The instructor instructs the hoist operator to carry out the lifting operation in accordance with the three steps of tightening, micro-lifting and lifting. During the tightening process, if it is necessary to hold the C hook, the rigger should hold the bracelet (the rigger in the finished product warehouse should hold the outer edge of the hook and not extend his hand between the hook and the steel coil) to prevent Pinching hands.
  5. Personnel are prohibited from standing under the C hook at any time to prevent it from falling suddenly and injuring people.
  6. During the hooking process of the rigging operator, the hoist is prohibited from lifting and lowering, and the instructions of the lifting personnel should be followed when lifting.
  7. During the lifting process, the hoist operator is not allowed to make multiple tasks.
  8. When the rigger is removing the C hook, the hoist operator is not allowed to perform lifting operations.
  9. Lifting objects must not exceed the rated load and must be lifted steadily.
